Hi, my name is Assem. I was born in… haha, just kidding… don’t worry, I won’t bore you with all those details here. Just the three most important points:<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

  1. I was born in the USSR and have traveled the world for most of my life.<\/li>
  2. Growing up, my favorite food was soup. I came home from school and asked my mom to make me soup. Every single day! <\/li>
  3. …and as a child, I hated it when people took photos of me… here’s the proof:<\/li><\/ol>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

    Today, I’m a bit less camera-shy, perhaps because, as my sister would say, “I know I’m getting older when I lose my sense of shame.”<\/p>

    That’s me today, on one of my better hair days \ud83d\ude42<\/strong><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

    But I digress.<\/strong><\/p>

    One day, about a decade ago, I moved to Zurich (for love :)) and fell head over heels in love with this city. The only thing I didn’t love was the food scene. It wasn’t contemporary, limited, and frankly, boring. <\/p>

    I kept walking through the streets of Zurich, wondering where I could grab a quick bite that was both healthy, quick, and easy.<\/p>

    As you can imagine, I quickly became frustrated, mostly because I was hungry (hell hath no fury like me when I’m hungry, just ask my husband), but also because of the question… where do people go for an uncomplicated, healthy lunch that doesn’t make them want to nap at their desk afterwards?<\/p>

    After clearing out aisle 4 at the supermarket on an empty stomach, I told myself: Assem, you can do this!<\/p>

    “What?” you ask. “What can you do?” <\/strong><\/p>

    “Open a restaurant that serves fresh, delicious food, quickly and uncomplicatedly,” I said.<\/p>

    The rest is history. As they say. <\/strong><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

    To be honest with you, it takes a lot of people and even more hard work to run Simply Soup, but what keeps us going is our passion and love for what we do.<\/p>
